Nearby is Isola dei Pescatori, inhabited by families who still make their living from fishing. To finish further north is Isola Madre, home to a botanical garden with exotic species and a doll museum. During the excursion lunch in a restaurant on one of the islands.
After lunch return and Stresa to continue to Pallanza, meet the guide and visit Villa Taranto knownfor the beauty of its gardens. Return to hotel, dinner and overnight stay.
Day 3: Lake Como
breakfast at the hotel and departure for Lake Como, a magnificent pre-Alpine basin, totally Lombard, among the most deservedly celebrated plagues of the Italian landscape, also called Lario. It occupies the bottom of a valley carved out of the ancient Adda glacier and divides into three branches: of Colico to the north, of Como to the southwest, of Lecco to the southeast (evoked by Manzoni in The Betrothed). The main tributary is the Adda, which brings in the waters of Valtellina from the north and exits at the southern end of the Lecco branch. Although it varies from place to place, the climate is generally mild, especially in the central lake at the meeting of the three basins; Mediterranean and exotic plants thrive on the banks and in the parks of the villas. Famous mountains such as the Grigne, Resegone, and Legnone dominate the shores. The shores are very busy especially the Como basin and the center of the lake where, a splendid hinge of the three branches, the Bellagio peninsula stretches out. Lunch in a restaurant. Continue to Tremezzo and visit Villa Carlotta and its botanical garden. Return to hotel dinner and overnight stay.
Day 4: Milan – Return
